Kate's ABC -Leadership Card

Hello Friends:
This week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, and I will like to congratulate all my friends teacher that gave so much for our children's.  We had to prepared at school a Chinese Luncheon of our teachers and we had someone very special that always orchestrate all the volunteer moms to offer their best, and that is my friend Claudia.  Since the luncheon was a tremendous success, I had to give her a thank you note, but have to be one special with a message that describes her.  This is her card:

I used 4" of the water pot from Kate's ABC in a "gingan" paper.

The message is from quotes.com:  Leadership, the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it, by Eisenhower

The ribbon will bring dimension to the card inside.

And the envelope will have the same water pot just in one color.

I hope you like it.  She was very thankful for the card and specially for the message.
By the way she recruited me when my son was in kindergarten and know he is in 5th grade.  I am very  bless to worked with her for so many years.  Thank you Claudia, for being so special.
We love you.

Camping Creatures - Carlos - My Boy Scout

Hello everyone:
As you can see I love Mini Albums, and its time is one for my son Carlos.  He is in Cub Scouts for the last 5 years and last March we bridge to Boy Scouts.  I am very proud of him and since his 5th grade graduation is coming soon, I did a Mini Album about one of the things that he likes the most:  scouting.
The base to start the letters is a Square from Cricut Craft Room Basics.  All the letters will be cut attached to the square increasing the with 1/2 inches between letters.  The letters are also from Cricut Craft Room.
C is for Carlos but also we used it for Camping, one of his best events in scouting.  Some stickers are being used from K&Company Scouts. (Jo-ann)

A is for Adventure.  Their is a lot of adventure in scouting:  kayaking, cross country, aviation, rock/wall claiming, archery, shooting among other that thru the years Carlos is being expose.
R is for Rope.  Their is so  many knots with ropes that you would never end.  In the first page the rope was made by him without knowing that I was going to use it on his album.

L is for love, in conditional love.  As his parents we support him 200% to reach is goal, being an eagle scout.

O is for "on my honor" the words from the scouts promise.  For the pictures I used his two uniforms, Cub scout and Boy Scout, since is very recent his  bridging to BS.
S is for scouts.  I am very proud to have him in Troop 816, and also to be part of a scout family.  My husband is a leader in BS and since my daughter is in Girl Scout, I am a Cadette Leader.

I can't wait to see his face when I give him the album.  I will keep you posted.

I hope you enjoyed.

Billionaire - Hollywood Mini Books

Hello everybody:
My girls at Girl Scout are going to celebrate the bridging and the end of the year party with the Hollywood theme.  And thinking cutting and going around, finally I came with the third version of the Hollywood Mini book.
First I cut 6 cardboard 5.75 x 4.53, 2 black, 2 yellow and 2 red with blue lines.
I used Campin Critters Cricut Cartridge. The Hollywood 203 I used the letters from Billionaire and set the gypsy in Basic 0.59 x 0.58, place the letters together with advance -0.10.  The stars was a combination of sizes from Paisley Cartridge.  Big stars 3.77 x 3.59, medium 2.41 x 2.29, small 1.67 x 1.59.

For the directors clip board I used Locker Talk, size 2.78 x 2.62, and highlighted the lines with a silver market.  For the picture frame I used Wild Card, 4.15 x 5.30 in white cardboard. The directors light was printed from Lettering Delight - Movies Theme.

From school also I used the paper cutters to reproduce the camera.

This ribbon was the Bomb!  It was from Micheal's and give the special touch to decorate the film that I printed from Movies - Lettering Delight.

This particular wavy boarder was from Cricut Craft Room Basics, 4.97 x 4.06.
All he stars were highlighted with the silver marker to bring them as part of the action!

To make more pictures frame I used a different boarder from Wild Card, 4.05 x 4.03 and combined red and white paper.

From school I used some cutters to cut the film and the camera.

For the Admit One ticket I used Locker Talk, size 2.45 x 1.15 and the shadow 2.67 x 1.21 in red and black.

Autographs is going to be the fun part of the night when each girl will asked their friends for their autographs as all of them being part of the Hollywood wall of fame.  I used Billionaire Cartridge.

From Lettering Delight, also I used the theaters faces to bring a little touch to the end of the book.  Every girl signed their books on the back

And the gran finale was to cut ribbons 5" to decorate the rings that hold the pages.
This was a big production of 40 mini books, but I have to thanks my friends Carmen and Jovanna for their help in making this project a reality for our Girl Scouts.  And at the end,

I LOVE IT!

Kate's ABC - Happy Birthday Friend

My best friend Carmen, the one that "make me" a Cricut fan, her birthday is coming soon.  On Saturday since we were at the beach, I took a picture without her noticing and remained me the Kate ABC cartridge.  The original picture was this.
First I converted the picture to black and white and crop some of the outside.  Then I printed the picture.

I used a card 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 and cut the pink border to used it as a background.  Then I cut the base of the girl in brown, the lake in green and the pink dress and rest of the layers.

I have an extra effect on the hat, I used the ink distressed brown and glue a pink flower,

The butterfly also has some pink distressed on the border.

To cut Happy Birthday I used Birthday Bath words in dark pink as shadow and lite pink to be on top

One's the picture is crop, I distress the borders more to have the effect of time, place a brown border over the pink border to highlight the page.

The letters of Happy Birthday are over foam adhesive squares to create the live effect.

An on the back, my stamp, Handmade by with my signature to be unique.  I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I enjoyed my day.
